Crystal Palace are set to finish the signing of Sam Johnstone on a free switch after curiosity from Spurs in latest weeks.
A recruitment supply has informed Football Insider that Palace have agreed contract phrases with the shot-stopper and that the West Brom man will signal the deal and finalise the transfer.
Johnstone is out of contract on the finish of the season after failing to resume his cope with West Brom. The 29-year-old has been on the Hawthorns since 2018 and was very spectacular final season within the Premier League, which resulted within the keeper receiving an England name up.
Johnstone was closely linked with a transfer to Tottenham over the previous couple of weeks and earlier this month the Mirror reported that Spurs have been set to win the race for the West Brom keeper beating Manchester United to the deal.
This potential deal has clearly fallen by way of, as Spurs have now opted to signal Fraser Forster free of charge this summer time reviews The Athletic and Palace are set to land Johnstone.
Crystal Palace’s primary this season has been Vicente Guaita, who now seems to be set to get replaced by the Englishman.
